The Nigerian music industry has been in a rave of music releases and we are loving the diversity of creativity and sound.
Ever since the incorporation of “New Music Friday“, Nigeria has seen many great hits being released every weekend, whether albums, EPs or singles. These are some Nigeria’s latest albums for now:
1. Burna Boy’s ‘Twice As Tall’
He took the lead by giving us great new music in the form of Twice As Tall on August 14th, with production from Diddy, and features with Chris Martin, Stormzy and Naughty By Nature.

2. Cuppy’s “Original Copy”:
With a lot of teasing and anticipation her fans after the release of her lead single ‘Jollof On A Jet‘, Cuppy really came through with most of the new music on her album called
Original Copy. The album was released on August 21st and it consists of 12 songs which
sum up to 31minutes, with features from Seyi Shay, Rema, Teni, Fireboy DML and
others.

3. Fireboy DML’s ‘Apollo’:
Titled APOLLO which in translation means the Greek and Roman god of
sunlight, prophecy, music, and poetry. Apollo is Fireboy’s second album and was
released 20th August. As unconventional as he has always been, this album is no
exception as it has features with Rhythm & Flow’s first season winner D Smoke on the
track Champion.

"If Adekunle Gold had Burna Boy’s PR, 'Afro Pop Vol. 1' would probably be Nigeria’s frontrunner for a Grammy nomination. The album is so African, yet so Western/European."
