Heavenly Bodies Came Alive At Ocean8 Premiere………..Or not

After the hunger games, director Garry Ross was eager to find another project that would shatter expectations while showcasing women kicking serious ass. What better than an all female version of the popular Ocean’s franchise?

Ocean8 was recently premiered in Nigeria, at the film house Lekki, Lagos state and was themed “Met gala”. A lot has been going on as regards the premiere and its theme.

First, I’m wondering why a movie with zero Nigerian actor was premiered in a city that wasn’t even featured in the movie. Second, the premiere was themed “Met gala”…….Is that suppose to stand for Heavenly bodies? (Which ofcourse was this year’s theme).

Im not sure how one of the biggest event, where celebrities bring their A-game can be considered a theme, even met gala changes its theme every year. That’s like organizing an event and theming it “Grammy awards” or “New Yam Festival”.

Just because the film showed a side to met gala doesn’t mean you have to dress like it (if at all you want to premiere the movie), even the cast knew better…….My thoughts though, what’s yours??
