My name is Janet Ajibade, a former banker turned entrepreneur and owner of Mamushca Foods.
What does your business do and how it started?
Mamushca Foods is a food processing company that promotes healthy eating and well-being through the formulation and blending of organic and sustainable natural spices and herbs to seasoning without the use of additives and chemicals.
Mamushca Foods started in 2021, to provide an alternative to regular bouillon cubes made with monosodium glutamate. With research conducted, shows that long-term consumption of these seasonings poses health risks.
How do you solve your customer’s challenges?
Ask questions, identify the problem and offer solutions.
Who are your ideal customers?
Our ideal customers are people who are in search of alternatives to chemically produced seasonings/food and are ready to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Can you describe/outline your typical day?
A typical day at mamushca foods starts with going to our suppliers to purchase our raw materials, sort, formulate, mix and blend and finally packaging for onward delivery to our customers.
How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?
It doesn’t affect me negatively as I am fortunate that when Mamushca Foods was established, my children were already adults hence I’m able to maintain a great balance between work and the home front.
What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear in life is not being able to achieve whatever I set my mind on.
How do you define success?
Success to me, means doing consistent work and striving for the best possible result
What is your favourite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
Being my own boss, solving problems and creating positive impacts.
If you had the chance to start your career over again, what will you do differently?
I would have utilized social media platforms to create more awareness for my business and to boost sales.
What will you say are the top 3 skills, needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
A combination of passion for work, persistence and risk-taking.

The local trader who toils daily under the scorching sun, without giving up
What advice will you give people who want to be entrepreneurs?
Create a plan, find a mentor, be focused, be ready to make sacrifices and never give up
