My name is Damilola Abisola, and I am a multi-talented professional with a passion for creativity, storytelling, and healthcare. I was born and raised in Ogun state Nigeria and developed an interest in healthcare at a young age. After completing my studies at Olabisi Onabanjo University, I became a licensed pharmacist and began working in a Community Pharmacy.
I am also the founder of the Pep Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses on educating people about health issues and barbaric practices.
As a creative content writer, I have honed my skills in crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. With a background in Pharmacy, I bring a unique perspective to my work that combines my love for science with my creative flair.
My goal is to help businesses and startups succeed by leveraging the power of storytelling. Through my brand, I weave stories that captivate audiences and create lasting impressions in their minds.
By crafting relatable characters and narratives that hook people, I help businesses connect with their customers on a deeper level. Whether it’s through engaging social media posts, informative blog articles, or captivating product descriptions, I am committed to helping businesses stand out in a crowded market.
With my expertise in both writing and healthcare, I can provide a unique value proposition that sets me apart from other content writers.
So if you’re looking to take your business to the next level with captivating storytelling and compelling content, look no further than my brand. Let’s work together to bring your vision to life and make your brand unforgettable.
EM- HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THIS FIELD?
I have been writing for over 8 years but became more serious about it as a source of income in 2021.
EM- WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO GO INTO THIS FIELD?
I love telling and reading stories because stories transport you to a world you never knew existed. They allow you to experience a range of emotions, from the deepest sadness to the greatest joy, and to connect with the characters on a profound level.
For me, storytelling is more than just a hobby. It is a way to connect with others and share meaningful experiences. As a writer, I strive to create characters and narratives that resonate with readers, taking them on a journey that leaves a lasting impression.
EM- TIPS ON HOW YOU STARTED?
When I decided to take my writing to the next level, I enrolled in Simi -Kunle-oni’s course in 2022, which helped me to hone my skills and become a better writer. In addition to that, I took several other courses on platforms like Udemy and Coursera to further develop my craft. But, I didn’t stop there. I was determined to push myself through a challenge of intense reading and practice for three months which eventually paid off.
My commitment to learning and growth as a writer has been instrumental in my success.
EM- YOU ARE A FORCE TO RECKON WITH IN THE SOCIETY, HOW DID YOU GROW TO THIS LEVEL?
I am deeply grateful for the grace of God that has brought me this far in my writing journey. Without His guidance and support, I would not be where I am today, and for that, I am truly thankful.
Also consistency. Showing up even on days when I don’t feel like writing or when the words don’t come easily, I know that showing up and putting in the work is what sets successful writers’ stories for people to read.
And while I know that there is always room for improvement, I am proud of the progress I have made so far. With the grace of God and the power of consistency on my side, I am excited to see where this journey takes me next.
EM: HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?
Success to me means finding happiness and fulfilment in what I do, without sacrificing the well-being of myself or my loved ones.
While I do strive for financial stability and recognition, I refuse to let those goals come at the expense of my loved ones’ happiness or comfort. Of course, success means different things to different people, and everyone has their definition of what it means to live a fulfilling life.
But for me, true success is about finding a balance between personal ambition and social responsibility.
EM: IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO START YOUR CAREER OVER AGAIN, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?
Putting myself on social media earlier, and focusing more on the race instead of comparing myself with others.
I learned that success as a writer is not about competing with others but rather focusing on my growth and journey. By staying true to myself and my unique writing style, I have been able to carve out my niche and develop a loyal following.
So if you’re a budding writer, don’t be afraid to start putting your work out there. Embrace the journey and focus on your progress, and success will follow.
EM- EVERY BUSINESS-MINDED SUCCESSFUL PERSON HAS A STORY, WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU FACE?
Having to combine Pharmacy with writing because I am still a practising Pharmacist. This has been a great challenge for me as I am always busy and I don’t get to take more jobs so as not to disappoint people. Looking forward to days I get to work remotely and stop my 9-5.
EM- WHAT SETS YOU APART?
One of the things that sets me apart as a writer is my unique style and voice. Over time, I have honed my craft and developed techniques to capture and hold my readers’ attention.
I have been able to create compelling stories that draw readers in and keep them engaged from start to finish. By crafting vivid characters, evocative settings, and dynamic plots, I am able to transport my readers to new worlds and immerse them in the stories I tell.
My voice as a writer is an extension of who I am as a person, and I strive to infuse my work with the same passion, honesty, and integrity that define me in real life.
When writing, my goal is to create work that resonates with readers on a deep and meaningful level. And I am confident that my unique style and voice will continue to set me apart as a writer for years to come.
EM- YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TO MANY, WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
My goals are what inspire me to keep pushing forward. I refuse to stay where I am and I am determined to be seen, heard, and respected as a writer.
I understand that achieving my aspirations will require hard work, dedication, and a great deal of faith in myself and God. I am willing to put in the effort and trust in God to guide me to success.
I also respect a great number of storytellers and writers out there such as Chimamanda Adichie, Ayobami Adebayo, Biodun Stephen, Kunle Afolayan, Kemi Adetiba, Jade Osiberu.
EM- WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?
The Holy Spirit has been a guiding force in my writing journey. There are days when I feel lost and unsure of what to write, but I know that I can turn to God for help.
Whenever I feel overwhelmed or uncertain, I seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit through prayer and meditation. And every time, without fail, I am filled with clarity, inspiration, and renewed energy to continue writing.
Trusting in God’s wisdom and guidance has never let me down. I am constantly reminded that with faith and a willing heart, anything is possible.
EM- IF YOU WERE TO WRITE A BOOK ABOUT YOURSELF WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE?
Ernmmm Let’s say “All we have is now.”
EM- PLEASE KINDLY SHARE SOME OF YOUR SECRETS TO BECOMING SUCCESSFUL
