Exquisite Magazine got the opportunity to have an interview with a well-known fashionpreneur Arinola Ajayi the Ceo of Arins Collection. Let’s read up on her story!
Tell us about Yourself
I’m Arinola Ajayi, I hail from Ekiti state, I am in my early 30s, and I was born and brought up in Lagos Nigeria. I’m a wife and a mom of twins. Also a graduate of estate management, from the University of Lagos.
What does your business do and how it started
I’m a fashion preneur who is invested in making sure ladies look good with unique and affordable outfits. My business started when I was at the university 300 level, in the year 2015. My store was launched December 2018 located at 47, jamiu lawal crescent baruwa ipaja lagoa. Being a lover of fashion, it’s safe to say I turned my passion into a career.
How do you solve your customer’s challenge?
I solve my customer’s challenge by listening to and understanding customer’s wants/complaints, then swing into action. Also Prompt response and politeness.
Who are your ideal customers?
My ideal customers are beautiful ladies between the ages of 18yrs – 48yrs who wants to look, confident and smart.
Can you describe/outline your typical day?
After school runs at 7 am, I head to the store by 8 am to sort and send out customer’s orders, Then back home by noon. I work mostly offline to take orders and model new collections.
I have two sales representatives at the store, who attends to customers and two dispatch riders that make sure every order taken the previous day is delivered.
How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?
Entrepreneurship has taught me more patience and tolerance which has also been helpful with handling the kids and how I relate with other people.
What motivates you?
My biggest motivation is my kids, I want a better life for them, so I work hard with also my husband’s support to be able to achieve this.
What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear in business would be having to start all over
For example, losing any social media platform.
What is your favourite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
My favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur is seeing my outfits on my customers and how confident and more beautiful it makes them look.
Who has been your greatest inspiration?
My story has been my greatest inspiration. Looking back at where I came from, clothing was a bit of our worries. That inspired me to source for quality yet affordable outfits
What advice would you give to people who want to become entrepreneurs?
My advice for people who wants to become an entrepreneur is to identify their passion and go for it.
