Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has been listed among ten inspirational individuals who will be awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Kent on the 15th of July.
She “will be made Doctor of Music in recognition of her inspirational and international career in music” at Canterbury and Rochester cathedrals this month, according to a statement from the institution.
After completing her undergraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Kent, she went on to complete her postgraduate studies in Music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Professor Dr. Funke Abimbola, MBE, a C-suite Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leader, Healthcare executive, and Corporate Lawyer, will also be “made Doctor of Laws for her inspirational career as a senior solicitor and her extensive voluntary work as a mentor and campaigner” on the 14th of July in Canterbury.
