As reportedly the world’s highest-paid model, Kendall Jenner knows a thing or two about transformations or in this case hair transformations. But while her job has seen her undergo countless chameleon-like makeovers, the 24-year-old has always been quite consistent in her low-key approach to her off-duty appearance, including when it comes to her naturally dark brown hair.
Now in quarantine at her home, it seems Kendall is missing trying out new looks on set, and has taken things into her own hands instead. Posting on Snapchat, Kendall — with a blue-eye filter in place — showed off isolation hair that was a much lighter, honey shade than her natural colour. While the video has now expired, Kendall’s new look spread rapidly across the model’s many fan accounts.
Fans were given a first glimpse of Kendall’s hair journey over the Bank Holiday weekend, when Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber unveiled a new collaboration, “Stuck With U”, complete with a home video-style montage of fans and famous friends dancing and singing along to the charity single while under lockdown. Among the familiar faces cropping up in the video: Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashton Kutcher with Mila Kunis, plus Kendall with her sister, Kylie Jenner. Wearing a Prada lightning-print skirt, Kendall hugs her sister — remember hugging? — on a sports court, her shoulder-length hair noticeably lighter than usual.

Kendall’s new colour comes at the perfect time. While summer 2020 will be different to any other we can remember, it’s still natural to think about freshening up your look as the seasons change. With salons shuttered for the foreseeable due to social distancing rules, anyone lightening their hair will need to go it alone – unless you’re lucky enough to be isolating with a qualified hairstylist. If your hair is as dark as Kendall’s, know that achieving a beachy blonde will be a multi-step process, and it’s important to follow expert advice. We love Bleach London’s easy-to-use kits, or call your usual hairdresser for advice or a Zoom consultation.
