Lakowe Lakes Golf and Country Estate is located in the new Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State and is set within a 308-hectare expanse of nature, manicured gardens, palm groves and more than thirteen (13) lakes and a signature 18-hole championship Lakowe Lakes Golf Course, which was designed by world-acclaimed Golf Course Architect, Robert O’Friel.
As we cruise in, I felt a sense of calm and gratitude. That’s what the serenity does to one. I was fully ready to immerse myself in this experience. The lawn was nicely mowed, the smell of fresh cut grass pleasing to my nose and the welcoming smile of the receptionists were all we needed to ease into relaxation mode.

Whilst waiting for our room keys, I took in the sight of the lobby area and words cant fully describe the ambience and scene. There is a lovely bar located on that floor, near a sitting area which led nicely to the restaurant with a magnificent view of the garden and small lake.
My room was the executive suite, tastefully decorated with a work desk, modern bathroom with a shower and bathtub for that much deserved soak, nice comfortable bed and a very soft side sofa to relax on. The room has an exquisite smell that just puts your mind in relaxation mode and when you open the door to the balcony, you are welcomed by the view of the garden which smelled like freshly cut grass and yes it should as the garden is mowed daily.
Our video content creator was booked into one of the cottages, which is near another garden, quite beautiful and relaxing as well.
There is a sense of calm and relaxation one feels as one go through the doors of the reception. It like you are being ushered in with open arms for a massive bear hug. The ambience is very warm, welcoming and it smells divine. It like walking into a beautiful Spa from the moment you get into the reception room and as you walk into your bedroom, I love the way the rooms were labelled by essential oils or herbs instead of room numbers. My room was a Cheryl other one was basil; I think I saw sage etc.
There are so many activities do at the Lakowe Golf Resort. They include the boat cruise, fishing, swimming, playing golf or touring the golf course. There are a few restaurants on the property depending on what your palette graves. They also have a nice gym that is currently under construction and a decent size swimming pool as well. They even have bicycles for you to ride around the estate.
We went on the boat ride and fishing the next day. There is a fishing instructor is on hand to give you a little bit of fishing training before you embark on your own fishing expenditure and the nice thing is when you do catch a fish, they make that fish into pepper soup for you. I wish I caught a fish but I didn’t.
The food at the resort is quite delicious, tastes like the meals were carefully prepared with love. There is the option of a buffet or ala carte menu, depending on what you would like.
We had a great staycation, and I would recommend going to Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country to anyone. It’s a great escape from the Lagos buzz. it is a quiet serene place for you to unwind even if it’s for the weekend to get revitalized, rejuvenated and then head back into the groove of things. So yeah, we recommend Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country.
