Welcome to the New Year!!! Here is something for everyone…Mocktails

With the festive season were a lot of drinking and so much fun. It’s now time to cool off with the Non Alcoholic Cocktails also known as Mocktails. ‘Mocktail’ is a derivative of two words – ‘mock’ meaning a copy or imitation of something and the word ‘cocktail’ meaning a mixed drink.
Mocktail, or a virgin cocktail, is a beverage which does not contain any intoxicating alcohol. A non alcoholic drink, or mocktail, is made of one or more kinds of beverages such as fruit juices or mixers. It is usually shaken or stirred before serving. They are suitable for:
- Children, Kids and Adults
- Non alcoholic drinks at your home bar
Here are a few recipes of Mocktails to try at home.
- 1 bottle of Sprite and soda
- 1oz blue curacao syrup
- Lime juice (Squeeze out and sieve juice from lime)
In a cup filled with ice, pour blue curacao syrup and lime juice, fill up with equal amount mixture of sprite and soda. Garnish with cherry.
- Orange Juice
- Orange wedge and maraschino cherry to garnish
In a cup filled with ice, pour in orange juice, tilt glass and pour grenadine slowly. Garnish with orange wedge and cherry with a parasol (a small cocktail umbrella)
- Blackcurrant cordial
- 2 Lemon
- Angostura bitters
- Cucumber to garnish
In a glass mug, fill the glass halfway with ice cubes. Pour equal amount of Fanta and Sprite then mix it up. Add a capful of grenadine and black currant cordial. Add 4 dashes of Angostura bitters and add a squeeze of lemon juice. Throw in a slice of lemon and garnish with cucumber slice.
· ½ cup of milk
· Vanilla ice cream
· Strawberry puree
In a blender add 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, milk and strawberry puree or strawberries. Blend until desired consistency is reached. Serve into a glass and garnish with strawberry.
