There are a few people who eat fruits religiously, and that’s because they know doing that is like hitting the lottery. There is a saying that goes “an apple a day, keeps the doctor away”. That saying applies to a lot of other fruits.
Eating an overall healthy diet rich in vegetables and fruits can reduce the risk of heart disease like heart attack and stroke. It also protects against certain types of cancers.
A diet rich in foods containing fiber, such as bananas, oranges, apples and mangoes may reduce the risk of heart disease, obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Eating vegetables and fruits rich in potassium as part of an overall healthy diet may lower blood pressure. It may also reduce the risk of developing kidney stones and help to decrease bone loss.
Fruits shouldn’t just be something you eat to help with digestion, it should be built in as part of your diet. Remember, “An Apple a day, keeps the doctor away”. This is why you should be eating fruits!
