CEO/Founder of The YD Company a part of the YD Limited, Yetty Oyinlola Ogunnubi, has been conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree (PhD.) in Brand Strategy & Communication by the Governing Council of Myles Leadership University at their conferment ceremony held at the Raddison Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos on Monday, September 19, 2022.
This honorary degree comes in recognition of her doggedness in leading initiatives aimed at providing unrivalled solutions to business challenges in the corridors of branding strategy, corporate communications, public relations, and digital media. It also acknowledges her continued support for, and contribution to, youth and women’s development and empowerment as society relies on them for sustainable growth.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of Programs, Dr. Mathew Mario highlighted the need for the University to honor the awardees. He said, “we recognize the value of good work and we celebrate their tenacity, sacrifices, and inventions and we believe strongly that in celebrating them, it inspires them to do more and encourages our students and other young people that there’s dignity in labour and value in doing the right thing. Every recipient present here today represents a beacon of light and hope to this generation and the generation next. It’s our desire that today won’t be the end of our relationship but the start of a relationship that’s geared towards building the Africa of our dreams”.
The newly conferred Doctor of Philosophy, Yetty Ogunnubi, in the company of her parents, friends, colleagues and, family, expressed utmost appreciation for the privilege and honor to be awarded and recognized.
“As a matter of fact, I challenge you today to dedicate your expertise and all the resources at your disposal to mounting a response equal to the magnitude of our task. To produce research and propose strategies for new systems and ways of being that will enable us to succeed individually and collectively. As you do so, I encourage you to meaningfully put women and children at the heart of your social and community services. Their engagement is key to reversing the unhealthy power imbalances we have lived with for far too long. It is essential to redesign human relationships into one of mutual respect and equity for us all”, said Dr. Yetty in her admonition to all attendees.
She further went on to thank The Vice-Chancellor, Myles Leadership University, Dr. Ravi Archarya, the Registrars – Dr. Francis Adeshina (Director, International Relations), Mrs. Isabella Nwando (Director of Public Relations), Dr. Monday Anyairo (Member, Board of Advisors), Mrs. Letisha Mathew (Director, Exams & Records), and Dr. Mathew Godwin Mario (Director of Programs) – and the entire Myles University team for the opportunity.
