We will no longer get to see the famous helmets that rocked our screens as the legendary french dance music sensation Daft Punk have decided to retire.

You can say they went out with a bang, as they announced their retirement via an eight-minute video clip titled “Epilogue” in which one of the robots set the others on self-destruct. This was derived from their 2006 film, “Electroma”.

After the explosion, we then got to see two robots holding hands and making a circle around the sunset, with writing that said, ‘1993-2021’.

Kathryn Frazier, the Daft Punk publicist confirmed the split to AFP by mail, though reasons have not been given as to why it happened.
