Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, shared a heartfelt message with his daughter, Uloaku, on her 25th birthday, offering both congratulations and valuable life advice for the years ahead. In a birthday post on his official social media page, the actor reflected on his daughter’s journey and outlined his expectations for her future.
“Happy 25th birthday, my dear Uloaku (the bank/house of wealth). From little Valerie to the poised Madam Uloaku you’re becoming. As I told you this morning during our prayers, take today as a moment of deep reflection—identify the things you should copy, the things you should embrace, and the things you need to let go of,” Kanayo wrote.
Known for his dedication to his craft, Kanayo also acknowledged his daughter’s concerns about his frequent absences due to his career. He explained that his work as an actor often requires him to travel, but emphasized that it’s a necessary part of staying relevant in his profession.
“You’ve often said, ‘Dad, you’re always traveling and hardly home.’ Uloaku, the reality is, good actors are always on the move because we are always in demand. I thank God for still being active in the industry. Please try to be patient with me,” he added.
Looking ahead, Kanayo made it clear that by the time Uloaku turns 27, he expects her to have made significant life decisions. “By 2027, my dear, I want you to have made a clear choice: either marry, pursue your PhD, or live independently. Simpliciter.”
Kanayo’s post has sparked discussions online about the expectations many parents place on their adult children to reach certain milestones by specific ages, especially in terms of career, marriage, and independence.
