Two of the best musicians in the Nigerian music industry Burna Boy and Wizkid wins Grammy Award

Burna Boy won the Global Music Award while WizKid won the Best Music Video Award at the 63rd Edition of The Grammys.

Two of Nigeria’s biggest Afrobeat superstars, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy and Ayo Balogun aka WizKid have finally reached the pinnacles of their career also have made the nation proud by each of them bagging their first Grammy award.

Wizkid Finally Releases The Visuals To Ginger Featuring Burna Boy | Wizkid Ginger Video

Burna Boy won the Best Global Music Album Award with his “Twice As Tall” album. He had been nominated in the same category (then known as the World Music Album) in 2019 for his “African Giant” album but was bested by Angelina Kidjo at the award ceremony in 2020.

WizKid won the Best Music Video award from the song “Brown Skin Girl”, which was a collaboration he did with global singer Beyonce and her daughter, Blue Ivy, back in 2019.

The Best Music Video award is given to the artist, video director and video producer.

The 63rd edition of the world’s biggest night of music, popularly known as “The Grammy Awards”  was held in Los Angeles on 14 March 2021. However, it was made to be a virtual event, due to the state of the coronavirus pandemic.
