The Best Minds, and Entrepreneurs from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya converged on 22nd November 2021 in Accra, Ghana as Compass Global, a leading Nigeria Consultancy in the Trade, Investment and Export promotion space hosted its CSR Female Empowerment event to support SMEs across Multiple Sectors.

The FLEC WEST AFRICA MEET UP organized by Compass Global under its SHEISFUTUREAFRICA brand featured High Level Presentations, Master Classes, and Roundtable Discussions targeted around 3 key areas for SMEs: Trade & Afcfta, Corporate Governance, and Access to Finance & Financial Planning.

As is customary for Compass Global, the FLEC Event showcased the Success Stories of Innovative African Brands, whilst focusing on lessons learned, thought leadership, and building resilience in the post pandemic era.

Other highlights of the event were unveiling of the theme for FLEC 2022, which has been tagged “The Year of Resilience”, during which Mrs. Chiedu also shared plans of the launch of its CSR Programme under the Compass Global’s Training & Mentorship Academy, and its Faculty of Global Trainers, who will deliver support to empower SMEs across all
sectors. Compass had launched its Virtual Learning Centre earlier in 2021.

CEO Compass Global and Founder of FLEC Mrs. Tokunbo Chiedu said that the needs of SMEs for example to access to market intelligence, finance, trade information, and market requirements as never been more vital as the region approaches the unfolding implementation of AfCFTA. The target audience of the MEET UP are Women and Youths in business.

A key driver of the FLEC platform is also the need to foster new business opportunities, through business linkages/engagements, and to strengthen networks in the process; this was demonstrated by the presence of regional and international guests.

Amongst high level speakers who spoke was Dr. Leticia Adelaide Appiah Executive Director, Office of the President, National Population Council, Ghana. Dr. Appiah spoke on the advantages of Digitalization, and automation in terms of reducing production cost, and enabling faster production; whilst providing customers with the same goods at lower
cost. Mrs. Elizabeth Omorojie, a Corporate Governance Official from the United Kingdom shared very important lessons, and tips on building resilience through Corporate Governance.

Also speaking on Afcfta, Mr. Ernest Boatey Chief Technical Adviser Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs stressed the importance of SMEs to create value within their immediate environment to expand internationally.

The Master Class on Financial planning for SMEs was delivered by Special Guests from Nigeria Dr. Ibiene Ogolo Co Founder V&R Partners.

Other Presenters included, Vivian Opondoh CEO & Co Founder Farmula, Kenya, other Speakers include Esthy Asante, MD Organics Trade and Investment, Jeph Acheampong CEO Blossom Academy, Emmaline Datey, CEO ICS Africa, Yetty Ogunnubi CEO YD Agency, Edma Ohemaa Lawer, CEO YEW GLOBAL, and other leading entrepreneurs from across multiple sectors.

processing, Fashion, Textiles and Arts & Craft. The event is a follow up to the Virtual Edition of the Global Female Leaders, and Entrepreneurs Conference (FLEC), which took place in March 2021, in Lagos, Nigeria, during which the “Innovation Tour” was flagged with support from the UN Economic Commission for Africa via its West Africa Office, and
attendance by its Sub Regional Director for West Africa, Mrs Ngone Diop as a Keynote Speaker.

Mrs Chiedu says she is looking forward to working with other Strategic, and Regional Partners, as Compass Global plans to continue to showcase Africa’s brightest minds, will move to Kenya, and other key markets in
2022.
