EM- HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THIS FIELD?
I transitioned into the marketing field in 2016 after initially pursuing a career in law. This shift has allowed me to accumulate over 7 years of experience in this dynamic industry.
My journey from law to marketing has been an exhilarating one, and it has equipped me with a unique skill set and perspective that continues to drive my passion for excellence in this field.
EM- WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO GO INTO THIS FIELD?
Seven years ago, if you had asked me where I saw myself today, it would have been a far cry from where I am now.
I found myself in this field because I was at a crossroads in life and did not know what I was going to do after leaving law. I took on a role as a digital editor for a fashion magazine and I had absolutely no prior experience or knowledge in this field. I was essentially learning everything on the job, from the ground up.
As I immersed myself in this new role, something incredible happened. I not only learned the intricacies of marketing, social media, and creativity but I also fell in love with them. It was the thrill of acquiring new skills and applying them to my work that ignited my passion for this field.
I also started to notice that many founders lacked the essential marketing knowledge and resources required for success. This insight, coupled with my journey of self-discovery within this industry, made me realize that there were others like me, striving to find their place and purpose in this dynamic and ever-evolving field.
So, in a nutshell, it was a journey of self-discovery, learning, and a deepening love for the craft that led me to where I am today.

EM- YOU ARE A FORCE TO RECKON WITH IN THE SOCIETY, HOW DID YOU GROW TO THIS LEVEL?
My story is not one of overnight success, but rather a testament to the incredible power of perseverance, passion, and purpose. I didn’t start on this path with a grand plan in mind.
The truth is, I had no idea what I was doing. My journey was, and still is, marked by continuous learning. It is hard work, but it is also deeply fulfilling. I’ve always believed in the power of knowledge and self-awareness as a catalyst for change.
But hard work alone doesn’t account for where I am today. It’s the combination of dedication, resilience, and a clear sense of purpose that has propelled me forward. I’ve faced challenges that tested my resolve, setbacks that pushed me to my limits, and obstacles that seemed insurmountable. Yet, through it all, I remained steadfast in my pursuit of excellence.
Building a strong network of mentors, peers, and collaborators has also played a pivotal role in my growth. Surrounding myself with individuals who shared my vision, provided guidance, and offered unwavering support was invaluable.
Passion has been my driving force. I’ve always believed in the transformative power of creativity and innovation. It’s not just a job for me; it’s a calling. I wake up every day excited to make a positive impact, to push the boundaries of what’s possible, and to inspire others to do the same.
EM: HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?
Success isn’t a destination; it’s a dynamic, ever-evolving journey. It’s about constantly pushing your boundaries, embracing challenges, and embracing growth. It’s about celebrating your wins, no matter how small, and learning from your setbacks. It’s not just about what I’ve achieved; it’s about who I’ve become along the way, the lives I’ve touched, and the unquenchable fire within me that fuels my journey forward day by day.
EM: IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO START YOUR CAREER OVER AGAIN, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?
I’d start by nurturing my self-belief from day one. I’d also remind myself that it’s okay to make mistakes. In fact, they’re more than okay; they’re essential stepping stones on the growth path. Another vital lesson I’ve learned is the value of balance. In my career do-over, I’d prioritize self-care and work-life balance right from the start. Burning out isn’t a badge of honour; it’s a red flag, and I’d remind myself that my well-being should always be taken seriously.
Lastly, I’d tell my younger self to start sooner. There’s never a perfect moment to chase your dreams, so why wait? I’d encourage myself to take those bold steps, even if they felt daunting because every moment spent waiting is a moment of potential progress lost.
EM- EVERY BUSINESS-MINDED SUCCESSFUL PERSON HAS A STORY, WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU FACE?
In my journey, I’ve encountered several challenges that have shaped me both personally and professionally. Firstly, as someone deeply rooted in the creative field, I’ve faced the stereotype that creative work is not ‘real’ work. This misconception led me to establish robust systems and processes within my organization to underscore our professionalism and commitment. Overcoming this challenge required, and still requires continuous effort to demonstrate the serious and impactful nature of our work.
Secondly, mental health is a cause close to my heart. My battle with depression and my understanding of the emotional complexities of our generation inspired me to create “Let’s Vent,” a platform that hosts sessions for creatives to openly share their thoughts and feelings. This initiative has provided a space for unfiltered conversations, fostering a sense of community and resilience among individuals facing similar challenges.
The last challenge I’ve had to face is the trial-and-error nature of my industry. I have had to build my career through trial and error as being in the marketing industry means you do not have a structured or professional career foundation. You will have to build your systems and processes, your business, and your mode of operations through trial and error, and that comes with a lot of mistakes and failures. It was a struggle to establish a cohesive system that allowed me to operate as a true professional in my field.
EM- WHAT SETS YOU APART?
Innovation isn’t just a buzzword for me; it’s a way of life. In my personal and career life, I’m constantly seeking new ways to do things, to improve, and to challenge the status quo. Also, no matter how tough the challenge or setback, I have an innate ability to bounce back, often stronger than before. I continuously seek opportunities for growth and learning. I think these qualities set me apart
EM- YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TO MANY, WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
My mother is a formidable force of inspiration in my life. I’ve witnessed her launch successful businesses and ventures, showing me the incredible power of determination and resilience. Her ability to reinvent herself and shine brightly, no matter the circumstances, has been a guiding light for me.
Another significant source of inspiration is the concept of a higher purpose. I firmly believe that what I do isn’t just a career; it’s a calling. This higher purpose, the belief that I can make a meaningful impact in the world through my work, serves as an unwavering source of motivation. It fuels my passion and gives me the drive to continually strive for excellence in the digital marketing and technology space.
EM- WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?
motivation is rooted in the belief that African millennials have the power to craft their unique paths to success, unburdened by traditional moulds and limitations. I am a staunch advocate for the idea that a creative and entrepreneurial spirit is not just advantageous, but essential in the modern world. It is through this mindset that we can fully explore our multifaceted potentials and embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery.
My vision is to not just merely offer services but to propel brands, individuals, and the industry into uncharted territories. With my dreams and projects lighting the way, and The Stamfordham Brand as my creative vessel, I am determined to redefine the very essence of greatness and ignite a new era of trailblazers. Within me lies the power to reshape the world and leave an indelible mark on the hearts of all those I encounter.

EM- WHAT ADVICE WILL YOU GIVE TO YOUTHS WITH THE ZEAL TO GROW?
First, don’t hold your goals too tightly. Life has a funny way of weaving its own narrative. The opportunities that will define you often emerge unexpectedly, so, be open to new opportunities, and embrace change as a necessary part of growth.
Second, you’ll stumble and fall more times than you’d like. But here’s the secret: each fall is a chance to learn, to refine your path. What works for you won’t always mirror the journeys of those around you. That’s perfectly okay. It’s in these moments of vulnerability that you’ll unearth your true strengths and what truly resonates with your soul.
The next advice I’d give is that your passion, your unique energy, your distinctive take on the world — these are your treasures. They are not something to be hidden or diluted to fit into a mould. In fact, they might just be your secret sauce, your unique selling point in a crowded world. So, never be afraid to embrace what makes you uniquely you. The world doesn’t need another copy; it craves the authenticity that only you can bring.
As you navigate your career, remember this: life will take you through deep valleys and exhilarating peaks. In the valleys, you’ll find the strength to climb the next peak. Embrace each twist and turn, and enjoy the journey.
