Hello, My name is Onyinye Ayeni, a graduate of Delta State University, Abraka. Having a BSc degree in Geology, I am married and blessed with two beautiful kids. The CEO of Ocsam collections, an online hair enterprise, that kickstarted in the year 2018.

I am a goal-getter, and I can consider myself a workaholic, I love listening to good music and I love traveling, being adventurous and I love cooking.

What does your business do?

Ocsam collections

 Ocsam collections deals in all kinds of hair, ranging from human hair blend to luxury human hair, sales of hair accessories, closures, frontals, wigging, revamping, and colouring.

How do you solve your customer’s challenge?

 Firstly, I listen to their complaints, make them calm, by showing genuine empathy, then proceed in asking questions as regards the customer’s need, hair preference, colours or style, and offer options.

 Who are your ideal customers?

 Any lady who loves and wears a wig.

 Can you describe/outline your typical day?

 The very first thing I do after my morning devotion is to check out orders ready for delivery, I record new orders, then work on orders available, I also call to confirm orders that were sent out, follow up on my social media accounts and retire for the day.

How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?

I must say not so bad because I tend to balance being a mum, a wife, and an entrepreneur, I try not to allow anyone suffer.

What motivates you?

Having to meet my customer’s satisfaction, motivates me to do more.

How do you generate new ideas?

I generate new ideas from the feedback I get from my customers and the holy spirit.

What is your greatest fear?

I would say not being able to meet my customer’s needs because I have a reputable brand and I wouldn’t want to damage my brand.

How do you define success?

Success to me would be, being able to accomplish a goal, an aim, or a purpose.

Do you believe there is some sort of pattern or formula to becoming a successful entrepreneur?

Yes, I do. As an entrepreneur, if you don’t put effort into your business, it won’t be successful, so align your goals and imitate those who have been successful in your niche.

What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?

My favourite aspect is my time! I own my time.

What advice would you give to people who want to become entrepreneurs?

Have a passion for what you do, it’s not always about money, but passion would take you further.

Then also be consistent and patient. Because there are challenges that you would face, love what you are doing and show up daily.

If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?

I would go into marketing aggressively and talk more about my business and invest more.

What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

 I would say:

Financial skills

Communication skills and,

Leadership skills.

What business-related book has inspired you the most?

That would be Sell Like Crazy by Sabri Suby

If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it? 

The geologist turned hair seller.
