Tell us about Yourself
My name is ibinabo Abbey-kalio the creative director of Rora brand from Okrika, Rivers state. A graduate of university of port harcourt, studied accounting.
Who ventured into shoe making and have successfully built Rora brand, a handmade footwear brand that gives bespoke Nigerian made Footwears for both male and female.
Handmade pairs are one of the best comfortable and durable choice of Footwears and rora brand offers you the opportunity to slay and be comfortable at all times while matching all your preferences and packaged with class.
What does your business do and how it started
I have always wanted to be a shoemaker while growing up and it felt like a very long and impossible dream since my family and anyone I told about it as a child felt it was weird for a lady to succeed being a shoe maker, but that didn’t stop me I kept hoping and looking for means reach my goal.
I got into the university and the dream never died, and I never gave up around 2021 December I decided to stop procrastinating and start the business without any capital and skills and taking that leap of faith got me where I am today 5th of Jan 2022 the footwear part of rora Brand started.
Who are your ideal customers?
Rora brand targets all male and female (Age13 – 50) who are unique, loves quality, and loves being comfortable with their preferential footwear crafted in their own style.
Can you describe/outline your typical day?
As shoemaker, I start of my day by praying first, dedicating my day first to the lord then i go through my unread messages, checking up on my pending orders to make sure i didn’t leave out any important information. Next i make a little research on new ways to bring the best service to my customers and moving forward to start making or producing orders.
What motivates you?
My greatest motivation in life is my mom, she has done a lot single handed to bring us this far and I’m forever going to make her proud. I’m also motivated 
by my past and where I see myself going to.
What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
My favourite aspect of being an entrepreneur is the never ending thrill and satisfaction I get when ever I beat a clients expectation
What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
I would say the top three skills in being an entrepreneur are
* Patience
* Perseverance
* Prayers
these there will take you a very long way in business and also in life.
What advice would you give to people who want to become entrepreneurs?
For someone that wants to become and entrepreneur,
* Never be tired of learning new things and unlearning, most of the times the things we know aren’t enough to make us great.
* Never give up, find a way to solve every problem you are facing without giving up.
* Plan your finances, pay yourself salary and know that your business is different from you and your personal expenses.
