Nollywood actress Ada Ameh, known for her role in the popular TV drama series “The Johnsons,” died yesterday (July 17). She was reportedly a guest in an oil company toyshop alongside members of her family when she collapsed.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas confirmed that Ameh died on Sunday at a Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) hospital in Delta State. She was confirmed dead around 11 pm.
According to multiple reports, the 48-year-old actress had previously revealed that she was going through some mental health challenges after losing some family members.
“Everything is going to be fine. I have an issue right now, and it’s taking my life. I will not die. We will get over it,” the actress said.
On October 20, 2020, Ameh lost her daughter and only child, Aladi Godgift, who was over 30 years old, and prior to that year, she reportedly lost six of her siblings. She started battling with ill-health and her condition deteriorated after losing another sister in March 2022.
As news of Ada Ameh’s death circulated, her fans, friends and fellow colleagues have shared tributes on social media.
