EM- PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
My name is Enifome Ogbimi. I give life to people, events and organizations, providing world-class solutions that help people build better lives. I also empower broken, abused and distressed women to rise to overcome their painful past to live again in all aspects of life.
EM- HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THIS FIELD?
I started empowering women in 2014 during the days of BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) but my work with helping women live again started in 2020 after which my Foundation, the Live Again Empowerment Foundation became fully registered on the 4th of December, 2021.
EM- WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO GO INTO THIS FIELD?
Life knocked me down and left me broken, abused, and distressed. I had been through a series of painful, ugly and near-death experiences including domestic violence which almost took my life. I lost everything I held dear and had to start life from scratch. It was hard but I was determined to bounce back so I leveraged my pain to build drive, courage and confidence to become a better version of myself.
As I began to heal and re-discover myself, my heart was drawn to women in similar situations and God started to place deep compassion and burden in my heart to encourage, inspire and help other women.
EM- TIPS ON HOW YOU STARTED?
It’s been a journey of obedience. I had gone for a 3-day retreat and surrendered my life to God afresh, including my mess and mistakes. God became my EVERYTHING and I learnt to depend on him for everything and follow his leading.
One day, I was on my way to work and I had a leading to pay the school fees for the children of a distressed woman. At the time I had not paid my own children’s school fees but I obeyed, went to the school and paid the fees. The woman knelt on the road crying in gratitude and somewhere in my spirit, I knew that day birthed something. Months after, I was having a beautiful moment of fellowship with God and I heard the words “Live Again” for the very first time. As I sought clarity on what it meant, I discovered that it was my story. I had been knocked down by life and gotten back up stronger and better so I could help other women whose lives had been knocked down to get back up stronger and better. I was a woman living again and I needed to help other women live again. I also saw a vision of many women properly dressed but “walking dead” and I had a flashback to the time when I was that woman, a walking dead and a shadow of myself yet looking like I had it all.
It dawned on me that a lot of women are shining on the outside yet dying on the inside, merely existing and not truly living, carrying deep-seated trauma from their past, most of which they are not even aware of but has been responsible for their choices, actions and results. I wanted to help women rise above their painful past and equip them with the tools to be able to do so, helping them build courage, drive and confidence to live again purposefully and profitably. This was how the Live Again Movement started and as I helped these women, I realized that some of them in abusive marriages and life-threatening situations needed a place to stay temporarily. I got a leading to set up the Live Again Shelter to be a temporary place of solace for broken, abused and distressed women after which I received further instructions that led to the registration and establishment of the Live Again Empowerment Foundation.
EM- YOU ARE A FORCE TO RECKON WITH IN THE SOCIETY, HOW DID YOU GROW TO THIS LEVEL?
Sincerely, I am what I am by the grace of God and I owe it all to God. When life knocked me down. I literally had to DIE to LIVE AGAIN. The old me had to die for the new me to live.
I had lost everything so I started to see myself as small but God taught me how to see myself the way he sees me, and brought the right people into my life who played a great role in helping me become the woman I am today and gave me the grace to serve and put in the required work.
It has taken blood and sweat, lots of mind re-engineering, service and investment in myself, knowledge, hard work and discipline. I am constantly learning and evolving, dying to self and becoming a new me every day.
EM: HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?
To me, success is being who God wants me to be and doing what he wants me to do per time per season. Success is people becoming better just because they encountered me.
Success is knowing that because of me, someone had a renewed hope to truly live and not merely exist, to know that they can live fully and abundantly irrespective of all they have been through.
EM: IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO START YOUR CAREER OVER AGAIN, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?
I would be AUTHENTICALLY ME from the beginning. I say that I AM FIRE, I give life to people, events and organisations, but it was not always so. A lot of people didn’t understand my fire neither did I so I found myself struggling to fit into people’s perceptions of me and so it was either I was trying to reduce my fire or dimming my light so people won’t say I was doing too much. Now I know better that “To whom much is giving, much is expected” and I am okay with doing too much as long as my much is helping people build better lives and a source of great value to individuals and organisations.
EM- EVERY BUSINESS-MINDED SUCCESSFUL PERSON HAS A STORY, WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU FACE?
The challenge of finding service providers with integrity. I was duped by a website designer and it pained me to my bones to the point that I made up my mind to learn website design and I did, designing my website afterwards.
There was also the challenge of getting clients and funds to execute certain projects.
Then the challenge of getting the right team or people to work with who understand the vision and embody it.EM- WHAT SETS YOU APART?
My FIRE: I have a fire that can never be extinguished. My RESILIENCE: I am highly resilient, I do not give up easily, and I have the ability to solve complex problems and manage difficult situations. I am also a GREAT COMMUNICATOR with GREAT INTER-PERSONAL SKILLS so I am able to connect with all manner and cadre of people. Being RESOURCEFUL and VERSATILE also sets me apart as I possess a high level of knowledge and skills that cut across multi-sectors, as such I am able to add great value to individuals and organisations.
EM- YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TO MANY, WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
The fact that I carry the life of God in me and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me as well as my desire to please God through my life, expressions and actions.
EM- WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?
One, my relationship with God and two, my drive to see people better.
EM- IF YOU WERE TO WRITE A BOOK ABOUT YOURSELF WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE?
The woman who lived again.
EM- PLEASE KINDLY SHARE SOME OF YOUR SECRETS TO BECOMING SUCCESSFUL WITH EM
Firstly, I prioritize my relationship with God above anyone and everything else. I trust in the Lord with all my heart, I do not lean on my own understanding; in all my ways I acknowledge him and he directs my path. I submit to his Leadership by letting him be my Lord and not just my Saviour so he is my strategist and inspiration, as such he goes ahead of me and breathes his life into everything I do.
Secondly, my ability to tell myself the truth has helped me greatly in life. I am not one to deceive myself. I tell myself the hard truth and sometimes speak to myself aloud so I can hear myself.
Resilience is also one of my top secrets. I face challenges head-on and learn from them.
My mindset is also very positive and solution-oriented. I see failure as feedback to become better or do better and I am a firm believer that all things work together for my good so I am quick to shift my perspective when I encounter problems which helps me find solutions to the most complex problems.
My desire to transform lives and leave people better than I met them has also taken me far in life. I am a life-giver, nothing and no one encounters me and stays the same.
EM- WHAT ADVICE WILL YOU GIVE TO YOUTHS WITH THE ZEAL TO GROW?
1) Don’t joke about your relationship with God. Be intentional about building intimacy with God. It will take you farther than your efforts and imagination.
2) Be yourself unapologetically but CHOOSE to be your best self in every given time or place.
3) Do the inner work. Work on your mind and your heart. If your mind and heart are unhealthy, your life would be unhealthy no matter how hard you try.
4) Focus on your assignment and avoid distractions.
5) Prayerfully seek the right mentors, friends, communities and associations.
6) Serve the people God brings into your life with your whole heart.
7) Don’t be money driven, be purpose-driven.
8) Place value on yourself, it is the value you place on yourself that people will place on you.
9) Do the work and pay the price for your destiny. Soft life is great but it may get hard before it gets soft.
10) Don’t run away from challenges, they help you build resilience and carry in them opportunities for growth.
