Is Kim Kardashian leaving Balenciaga after their most recent child exploitation campaign?
Kim Kardashian has confirmed that she will reevaluate her professional relationship with Balenciaga.
The reality Tv star made this assertion after a recent advert gone wrong by the fashion house (Balenciaga) featured children cuddling teddy bears wearing bondage gear.
The reality TV star and founder of Skims, who has served as the fashion label’s ambassador, finally spoke out after receiving a barrage of messages from followers and commentators pleading with her to criticise the company.
Kardashian claimed in comments on her social media that she had held off speaking up
“not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened.”
One of the many famous people cast in the Balenciaga couture show during Paris Fashion Week in July was Kim Kardashian, who made headlines for her identity-obscuring Met Gala 2021 ensemble.
She noted that as a mother, she found it disturbing. She wrote that the safety of children must be held in high regard and that normalising child abuse in our society has no place.
Confronting the issue of her feature with Balenciaga in a follow-up post, she wrote, “I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with — & the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children.”
