5 Old School TV Shows That Are Still Relevant
1. Friends- 1994
To kick start this list is the most obvious of them all, yes I am being very predictable here.
Friends follow the personal and professional lives of six twenty to thirty-something-year-old
friends living in Manhattan. A lot of young people swear that this tv show helped shape their childhood and taught them more about adulthood, love, and friendships, which is the major reason it is remembered till date.
2. Big Bang Theory- 2007
Are you in for a laugh? And I mean the really big rolling on the floor comedy because this is the show for you. Coming in second on our list and steadily compared to Friends as a much better sit-com; Big Bang Theory is an old school movie that would be watched for at least two more generations.
Bang Theory is about a woman who moves into an apartment across the hall from two
brilliant but socially awkward physicists, which then shows them how little they know about life outside of the laboratory.
The show actually came to an end in 2019, so it isn’t too late to catch up.
Cast Include: Regina King, Johnny Kalecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco
3. Martin- 1992
I came to know about this show because of TV Host Wendy Williams, she basically raves about it. Martin is a sassy sitcom centering on radio and television personality Martin Payne.
The show focuses on his romantic relationship with girlfriend Gina, her best friend Pam, and escapades with best friends Tommy and Cole. This is definitely a must-watch, that’s why it makes it to our old school tv shows list.
Cast Include: Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Thomas Mikal Ford
4. The Good Wife- 2009
Legal shows are the best! They are my absolute favorites because I get to learn a lot of legal terms and understand them because they are broken down into practicalities of the cases on the show.
The Good Wife ticks every box for me from storytelling to plot and even characters; I especially love the variety of characters and just how unique they are to their roles.
The Good Wife follows the life of Alicia Florrick played by Julianna Margulies who has been a good wife to her husband, a former state’s attorney. After a very humiliating sex and corruption scandal, he is behind bars. She must now provide for her family and return to work as a litigator in a law firm.
Cast Includes: Julianna Margulies, Chris Noth, Josh Charles, and others
5. Grey’s Anatomy- 2005
Currently holding the number spot of the longest-running show till present, Grey’s Anatomy is one tv show that if you’ve not been tempted to watch at any point; then you are probably weird.
This show is centered around the personal and professional lives of five surgical interns and their supervisors. And is mostly loved for the procedurals and storytelling of these diseases and how they are resolved or may be neglected.
