According to Punch Newspapers, the Chairman of Transcorp group, Tony Elumelu expressed confidence in Abdulrazaq’s abilities to deliver.
He said, “I am delighted that Mrs Abdulrazaq is joining our board. This appointment demonstrates once again our commitment to the highest level of governance, human capital investment and diversity and inclusion across all layers of our business.
This came after a decision by the company to include more females in executive positions earlier in the year. Based on this, Owen Omogiafo became the President/GCEO of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc in March.
Transcorp also made Dupe Olusola and Helen Iwuchukwu MD/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc and Executive Director of The Board of Transcorp Hotels Plc respectively.
“These appointments demonstrate our commitment to nurturing talent and rewarding success. We have a deep pool of highly qualified and dedicated employees. We remain committed to diversity and inclusion” said Elumelu.
Abdulrazaq also expressed her excitement to join Transcorp as the first female Vice Chairman.
