Hard times are usually the most testing and yielding experiences people go through. Generally speaking, it makes you uncomfortable, stressed, anxious, or sick. These situations involve a lot of sacrifices, tolerance, responsibility, and patience, which could become overwhelming.
Survival is key.
When going through difficult situations, giving up should not be an option. Having a “sit-down talk” with your inner self, could help figure out how you are going to get by. Before things get overwhelming and unbearable, seek first a source of inspiration and motivation, which is line with your foundation, roots or orientation. Most times they are determinants of how far you would succeed during this period. You should seek for a source of hope and faith. This keeps you pushing even when it seems like the entire universe is against you.
Pain is only normal. Life comes with a lot of packages, the awesome ones and the ugly ones. Acceptance and mindset are key factors to tackling the perils of life. Casually handling situations, is a simple-minded decision, as life is not always sunshine. Making the best out of circumstances combined with optimism goes a long way. This keeps your boat sailing even during dark storms.
Get your armour. Austrian neurologist once said, “Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility, and most people are frightened of responsibility.” Taking responsibility of what life has to offer is a step further to survival. This also means, making an effort to change a situation. By so doing, you would most likely need to gear up. Being responsible makes you confident, coating yourself with the cloak of confidence helps you face you fears head on. You easily begin to conquer challenging situations, you have fears but your confidence and sense of responsibility helps you grow and succeed during difficult times. You develop and grow through experience, and people begin to ask “how does she do it?”.
Gratitude pays off. Be thankful for your achievements, and the good things in life. Waking up every morning, and realising you are part of the lucky ones, I think is worth being thankful for. Remember, great things take time, and the only thing permanent is change. Be patient, do your part and leave the rest to God.
