Hello, I’m Crystal Cummings, a passionate tourism and hospitality professional
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, and now living in the vibrant city of Lagos, Nigeria. I’ve dedicated my entire career to the tourism and hospitality industry, and I’m also a corporate trainer and business consultant in this field. I’m fueled by my love for travel, the excitement of horse riding, and the joy of socializing with people from all walks of life. Whether it’s helping businesses thrive in the industry or exploring new destinations, I’m here to share my expertise and experiences.
What does your business do and how it started
CMC Corporate Services, formally known as Crystal Gem Services, provides a range of corporate services to companies, specializing in areas like corporate training, project management, business analysis, and business consultation. The company was founded five years ago by me, Crystal Cummings. I recognized the demand for outsourcing services in the dynamic and ever-evolving tourism and hospitality industry, which prompted the establishment of CMC Corporate Services. Our goal is to assist businesses in this industry to thrive and succeed by offering expert guidance and support in various corporate aspects.
How do you solve your customer’s challenge?
CMC Corporate Services addresses its customers’ challenges by offering tailored solutions through corporate training, project management, business analysis, and business consultation. We work closely with our clients to understand their specific needs and provide expert guidance and support to help them overcome challenges and enhance their performance in the tourism and hospitality industry. Our goal is to ensure our clients can deliver exceptional experiences to their customers and thrive in this competitive sector.
Who are your ideal customers?
My ideal customers are businesses in the tourism and hospitality industry seeking tailored corporate services to enhance their operations, whether it’s for training, project management, business analysis, or strategic consultation.
Can you describe/outline your typical day?
My typical day would either be working from home on my computer or at a business location having a business consultation or conducting employee training. If I’m not working I may go to the gym or have lunch at one of my favourite restaurants.
How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?
It has affected my family life positively since it allows me a flexible work-life
balance and financial freedom.
What motivates you?
What motivates me is my desire to always be better and do better every year
I aspire to be better than I was the year before.
What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is looking back on my life with regard to the things I didn’t
do or accomplish. That’s why I’m always trying new things and seeking new opportunities.
How do you define success?
Success to me is setting a goal and achieving it. It doesn’t matter what your
goal is once you have taken the steps towards achieving it you are already on the road to success.
What is your favourite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
I would say my favourite aspect is being able to provide a service that can
help someone. The fulfilment you get from helping someone achieve their
goals is what being an entrepreneur is.
If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do
differently?
Nothing. Everything I have been through has made me into the person I am today and I would not change anything.
What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Networking, communication and business management
Who has been your greatest inspiration?
My greatest inspiration has always been Oprah ever since I was a child.
What advice would you give to people who want to become entrepreneurs?
Go for it, failure is only part of the process but you have to keep going if you
truly believe in your dream.

Think and grow rich.
