Our Award-Winning Products with Purpose are 100% Natural, offering a cutting-edge synergy of Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Herbology, Gemstones & Phyto-Actives. Infused with such powerful remedial ingredients, our formulations are created to support the modern person from urban stressors and help to rebalance, strengthen, nourish and uplift.
We were inspired by the Sanskrit word ‘ila’ meaning ‘Mother Earth’. Mother Nature has to offer a wealth of precious and natural recourses that can help support our well-being. For this reason, our purpose is harnessing nature’s most powerful ingredients and purest vibrancy, to quench the needs of the modern world.
Our pioneering products are paraben free, synthetic fragrance free, mineral oil free, petroleum free, not tested on animal, SLS & SLES free, synthetic colours free, MIT free, microbeads free. Also, all our bottles and jars are recyclable. Most of our formulations are waterless and vegan.
What inspired the creation of ilapothecary?
No matter who you are regardless of your age, gender, ethnicity, geo-location, or beliefs… we live together in an everchanging world and society where we are constantly kept on our toes. Our lives, especially in frantic cities, consist of numerous pressures, making it challenging to maintain a healthy and balanced equilibrium of our stress-levels, anxiety, hormonal balance, and sleep. With the quest to combat these modern-day stressors, ilapothecary was born!
Starting our story in 2018, our inspiration and then mission became to support both the modern man and woman in their daily lives. We have chosen to provide natural and highly therapeutic remedies, to improve your well-being. Guided by the power of natural ingredients, ilapothecary kindly relieves the skin, body, mind, and soul, through products with purpose and by practicing a harmoniously holistic way of life.
Tell us about creative process? What is your favourite and least favourite part?
We absolutely love deciding on a stressor we want to treat and then the process of choosing the most powerful natural remedial ingredients to achieve it! The least interesting part is waiting for the 12-week testing period to go through.

At the beginning of our development, we took the time to analyse the daily habits & stressors of the modern man and woman. We came to realise that it is the small moments and things in life that matter. Meaningful small habits can add to your overall health and happiness, through restoring your mood, body, and mindset. To achieve positive change, these small additions to one’s life need to have a meaningful purpose. Guided by the power of natural ingredients and highly therapeutic remedies, we began creating products that homogenise powerful remedial ingredients, to heal both the body and the mind as two in one fixers.
Our formulations include the benefits and power of healing plants, such as Borage and Thyme, and remedial flowers like Rose Geranium and Blue Chamomile combined with anti-inflammatories based on age-old solutions mixed to phenomenal effect providing nature’s best. Based on your early experience, what advice would you give to others that want to start their own business?
Believe in yourself, be passionate, love your brand, love your customer, have a clear purpose, and create honest products.
There are many challenges that come along with running a small business. What is your biggest challenge and what is your biggest reward or success?
When you start, it is challenging to pass on the message of who you are and what you do, to all the different channels, buyers, wholesalers, platforms and end customers; it takes time and patience to spread the word organically. The biggest reward are all our returning customers and their raving reviews, it makes you realise that you can make a difference! We have also been blessed with 4 awards in just a few years and a lot of unexpected celeb love!
Where would you like ilapothecary to be in five years? How do you plan to achieve this?
In 5 years, we would love to support the modern man and woman in every corner of the world! We plan to achieve this though hard work, close dynamic long term collaborations, and through our expanding range of products with purpose, made of unique powerful remedial ingredients.
