It was another edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards(AMVCA7) and the players came to play, Lagos was a total shut down. The red carpet saw royal and some un-royal outfits, the dust of who ought to have won “Best Dressed” still hasn’t settled as stylists keep fanning the flames of the fire.
My take?
The outfit that won the best dressed for the female category, could have been worn with a better corset, as it seemed like the delicate rounded beauties had a hard time staying in place. The dress, however, gives the barbie look with the complimentary hairstyle.
Bbnaija’s Mike who won best dressed male totally deserved the award! He looked like a sexy slave master, not like those depicted in movies, but like a Mr Gray that we would totally love to submit to! It was a total delight to see him look as he should 😁.
The glitz and glamour saw lots of raised legs as it seemed like they passed a memo to show legs, the slits were so rude, they almost put the butts to light …what we do for fashion right? Let’s not get lost in the leg trail 😋, it’s worthy of mention that the red carpet was turnt, it saw beautifully sewn dresses with dangerous décolleté.
There are outfits worthy of “wear” and In no particular order:
The beautiful skinned Adunni Ade had on an outfit worthy of mention, she looked regal in the purple outfit slayed to perfection.
Nana Addo, the style connoisseur had necks at her cape, her dress was a work of art come to life. The dress is definitely to wear.
The fast-rising Jemima Osunde swayed in a detachable amazing outfit. It had style and elegance all in one.
The colour black is one that neutralizes all magic and sets a pace known to it alone, Actor Iyabo Ojo, looked extra delicious in a red carpet-worthy black dress.
The Bbnaija geng is one popping geng, they all looked amazing, however, Kim Oprah blew heads off when she stepped out in blue, with a headpiece to fit, she took care of every detail and that is amazing.
Timini Egbuson, I’m sure took home hearts alongside his award. He went extra with his ensemble, draping himself in a shiny piece of drip.
The fast-rising actor, Ben Touitou made other men green with envy, he looked very stylish in his green ensemble.
The sweet gentle men of the chop life crew, Ayo Makun and Timi Dakolo shined brighter than the stage lights as they wore blazer blinged, stone studded suits and never looked nicer.
The Grey man himself came to slay as always, Denola Grey, had on a one of a kind outfit, with gloves and a catchy ring to match. He looked like a man with intentions... I mean, dark intentions from a style intentional man is a hot combination.
All the guests did their best and their efforts must be recommended.
However, it seemed like some people needed more time as they didn’t seem ready, these outfits I believe will be “Trashed” after the event.
The trash list has, in no particular order:
Kiki Omeili, who is the queen of screen and talent, you remember “Lekki Wives” ? The designer must have forgotten the pattern then sewed the breast covers as an afterthought.
Award-winning Beverly Naya, recognized for her good work with “Skin” needs to be questioned as to what her dress represents. It probably wanted to have the shape of an octopus or a sea animal, the whole bodice needs to be thrashed.
Uzor Arukwe is known for his “mischievous” characters in movies, however, I think he brings them along to the red carpet. Uncle Uzor, can you leave the characters behind and slay for the red carpet, sir? Ahhh, you’ve got the body, why not flaunt it 🙄.
The coronavirus epidemic did give some people ideas, Omoshola of Bbnaija had sad-looking skulls attached to his outfit with half of his face covered.…ugh, that was a lot to take in, so I move him close to the trash and tip him over 😏.
Music crooner Harry song probably had to story to tell with his outfit, but I doubt if the cows had gone to sleep. It’s a red carpet sire and you did that “misguided” combo which looked like it wasn’t properly ironed, please go close to the trash (tips him into it and covers lid).
A red carpet event is meant to be slayed and comfort ought to be considered. When you choose to risk and risqué your outfit, you’ve got to make it worth it.
