Though this year has had its topsy-turvy moments, it has actually helped the creative process of many artists around the world, who have tried using their craft to make the world a more bubbly place.
The latest of these is WAP, the lead single and first official release off Cardi B’s second studio album that was released today, along with the video at once.
WAP Music Video
Cardi’s WAP music video has been described as risqué and provocative, but it has made fans all over the world very excited for these reasons:
1. The Cameos
There were three major celebrity cameos in the video. The most popular being the surprise cameo by reality star, Kylie Jenner, which has come under a lot of heat since. Others that appeared were Normani and Rosalia T Mulatto, Rubi Rose, and Sukihana.
2. The Visuals
The video was very colourful, with Alice in Wonderland-themed visuals.
The video shows Cardi and Megan walking through a colorful mansion, and takes place in different rooms throughout the mansion, including a leopard-themed room, a white tiger-themed bathroom, a snake-filled room, a green and purple room, and an indoor pool.
3. The Collaboration
The combination of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion is one that many didn’t see coming, but such energy from two highly acclaimed female rappers is what many people like to see when it comes to collaborations. This collab seems to have come at the best time for many fans.
4. The Composition
“Wap” heavily samples Frank Ski’s 1993 single, “Whores in This House”. Frank teased his involvement with the song in a Twitter post the day before its release.
