From being a ‘cast-out’ in the Hollywood scene, to becoming the ‘Ultimate one-man show’, Tyler Perry has made a mark in the world of Show Business that the world won’t forget in a hurry, and it’s definitely paying off.
The 51-year-old entertainer is currently on the cover feature of Forbes magazine, which also doubled as the announcement of his arrival into the billionaire’s club, with his earnings estimated to be $1billion.
Tyler Perry, who never went to business school, is a screen writer, director, producer and proud owner of a productions studio (Tyler Perry Studios).

According to the report, Tyler Perry’s success stems from owning and telling a narrative that others saw unfit for the mainstream.
Speaking on his streams of income, the report says that he “owns the entirety of his creative output, including more than 1,200 episodes of television, 22 feature films and at least two dozen stage plays, as well as a 330-acre studio lot at the edge of Atlanta’s southern limits. He used that control to leverage a deal with ViacomCBS that pays him $150 million a year for new content and gives him an equity stake in BET+, the streaming service it debuted last September.”
This is nothing short of Black excellence at it’s finest, and, of course, the world has lots to say about the recent development. Here are a few reactions from Twitter:
When Tyler Perry had his first play it only sold 12 tickets, and he had to sleep in his car because he didn’t make enough for his rent.

What impresses me most about Tyler Perry is he didn't wait to be invited to sit at someone else's table in White America; he built his own table because he knew everyone would want to sit at it. https://t.co/YVvpMZDpkR

Tyler Perry went from Madea to being a Billionaire. He made it from telling a story extreme poverty background and white dominance in Hollywood.
He didn't complain but prepared his own table by building his own & the biggest Hollywood Studio.
