Renowned American singer Ariana Grande, 25, has racked up yet another spot with over 146.3 million followers, surpassing Selena Gomez as the most followed woman on Instagram.
Previously, Gomez, 26, held the title with about 146.2 million.
However, the most followed person on Instagram still remains superstar footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, 34, who has 155.9 million followers and still counting, says billboard.

Grande is likely to consolidate on her title as Most Followed Woman On Instagram and close the gap to Ronaldo by drawing more followers from Britain following news that she would be a headliner at a concert in Manchester in August.
Grande’s latest social-media achievement as the Most Followed Woman On Instagram hardly comes as a surprise, considering that she’s gained more than 13 million new Instagram followers in the last four months and maintains a hyperactive presence on the platform.
Her new Instagram title comes on the heels of her record-breaking success with the release of her fifth full-length LP, Thank U, Next, which is spending a second week at No0.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Even though, Gomez posting on the photo-sharing app has been minimal since her announcement in September of taking a major break from social media before subsequently checking into an inpatient facility to seek mental health treatment.
Grande, is also a songwriter and actress began her career in 2008 in the Broadway musical 13, before playing the role of Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon TV series, Victorious and in the Spinoff Sam & Cat
She made her first musical appearance on the Soundtrack for Victorious and was signed to Republic Records in 2011 after music executive Monte Lipman came across one of her YouTube videos covering songs.
She has released several albums and singles, including Yours Truly, My Everything, Dangerous Woman, Sweetener, Thank you, Next.
She is the recipient of several awards and nominees, including Grammy, BRIT, MTV Video Music Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Teen Choice Award and Billboard’s Woman of the Year.
