On June 8th, 2024, Chude Jideonwo, host of the popular TV show, concluded his 40-day virtual book club session with participants from at least four countries. This edition focused on Iyanla Vanzant’s powerful book, “One Day My Soul Just Opened Up.”
Jideonwo says he found the book transformative: “This book helped me work through and clear out negative emotions like anger, fear, shame, worry, and sadness that affected my ability to act and grow. It also helped me find clarity to make life-changing decisions for my work, relationships, and faith in God.”
The book club fostered a space for participants to share their experiences and vulnerabilities based on the book’s insights. Chude captured the emotional intensity of the closing session on his Instagram page: He says: “The last day of our last book club was on Sunday and it was incredibly emotional. Incredibly emotional. They kept saying ‘I don’t want this to end’. ‘I don’t want this to end’, ‘this has become the most important part of my day’.
“I have paid for a lot of therapy for many years,” another said. “But I never got the amount of healing I got here.” Wow. There were tears, there was laughter, and digital hugs and high fives.
“These were accomplished people – across all ages from their 20s to their 60s, across four countries at least, CEOs and entrepreneurs, heads of international brands and leading creatives. And we all came together for what one called ‘group therapy’.” He added.
The #ChudesBookClub returns on July 1st, 2024, with a new exploration. This time, the group will be reading “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.” By Deepak Chopra.
