OMOTOLA JALADE EKEINDE: Silver Jubilee Of A Golden Talent
25years ago a young, beautiful and talented Omotola Jalade made her debut into the Nigerian movie scene, having modeled for a year, through the movie “Venom of Justice”, directed by Reginald Ebere. A year later, she played the lead role In the blockbuster movie, “Mortal Inheritance”.
A role that launched her into stardom, and launched a whirlwind career. Omotola went on to become the youngest actress to beat other established actresses, to emerge the overall Best actress at the THEMA ( the most prestigious Movie Awards at the time ) at the age of
19.
25years later, with over 300 movies to her credit, two studio albums, awards achievements from all over the World , and currently the convener of The Entertainment festival and fair (TEFFEST), Dr Omotola Jalade Ekeinde while celebrating her Silver jubilee is grateful for all the support throughout these years as she shows no sign of slowing down.
In light of her passion for budding businesses, Dr Omotola in conjunction with TEFFEST, sponsored an online programme to support young entrepreneurs during these COVID19 times.
Of all the numerous entries, two businesses; DIOLS CLASSICS owned by a male makeup artist, thriving diligently in a female dominated business and ZEELICIOUS CAKES owned by a 19year old, running a thriving business while still in the university won. They were both supported with items to improve their businesses.
This amongst many other offline initiatives taken on by GALG ( give and let give), Omotola’s NGO which donates money to widows in the entertainment industry and youths in dire need.
On the 20th Of May, Dr Omotola joined other very distinguished Africans from across Africa and of African descent in on online zoom conference tagged iFILM CONFERENCE, to speak on the theme “Growing The African Cinema Acting Industry In A Multicultural World” post Covid.

The 25th of March marked #AfricaDay and in commemoration with the celebration, MTVBaseAfrica in collaboration with YouTube, invited Dr Omotola to join other artistes from around the world to celebrate the day with a virtual #AfricaDayBenefitConcert, hosted by Idris Elba. The underlining purpose of this virtual concert for Africa, was to help
raise funds for those affected by Covid-19 across Africa.
The concert was broadcasted live on MTVBase’s DSTV channel 322 and was also streamed live on their YouTube channel.
