No matter how positive you are this year, some thing’s wont change, certain tasks, no matter how important they are; still seem like a huge chore.
I am an extremely organized individual, I take my skin care very seriously but for some reason, washing my make up brushes take so much effort. I am not sure whether it’s the time it takes or the fact that you can continue to use them regardless of whether they are clean or not.
So, how often are you meant to wash your make-up brushes?
Experts vary in opinion, some say once a week, some say once a month. However, I know loads of women who have never washed their make up brushes since they’ve began using them!!
This must change ladies!
No matter how flawlessly your favorite make up brushes may perform, the only way to keep them free from bacteria, dust and dirt free is to wash them frequently.
Washing your make up brushes should be part of your beauty routine, do not under estimate its importance. Although it may seem basic, skipping this cleansing routine can lead to clogged up pores and breakouts. Good quality brushes aren’t cheap, so keeping them clean and neat is the best way to protect your investment.
Luckily cleaning your brushes can be quick and easy.
You will need:
• A shallow bowl
• Gentle clarifying shampoo or baby shampoo
• A sink
1. Cleanse
Begin by running your brushes under lukewarm water, rinsing out all of the residual make up. Focus on the brush bristles and avoid the beginning of the handle as much as you can, too much water interaction can lessen the glue over time.
2. Lather
Fill with lukewarm water and a squirt of shampoo; gently swirl your brush tip in the water first. Then begin to swirl the brush in the palm of your hand to work up lather. Keep swirling in your palms and rinsing until the water runs clear and all soap is gone.
3. Dry
Ensure the head of your brushes is angled slightly down as we are avoiding water coming into contact with the handle.
Using your hands, shape your brush bristles to their original form then lay your brushes flat on a dry cloth and leave to dry overnight.
Make this a part of your routine. A good skin care regime, good make up products and clean brushes are a great way to achieve flawless skin.
