Idowu Oluwole Omowumi also known as Merit was born on the 21st of August, 1989 in
Lagos Island. Idowu, as an A1 student, gained scholarship to further his education
in The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, Nigeria where he studied Marketing
Management.
After graduating from his higher institution, He moved to Germany for some
professional courses/trainings in Veterinary and then later relocated to the United
States of America where he began his passion for music and joined his church musical
band group. He was then spotted and signed to Gold Empire Entertainment.
Merit is currently based in Nigeria as he collaborates with Patoranking who adds his
reggae and dancehall feel in his new single called NAKUPENDA which means *I love
You* in Swahilli produced by EbenJazz. The single nakupenda debuts on Friday the
11th of September 2015 #anticipate.
