The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) are set for December this year, and it has been announced that Hon. Steve Ayorinde will preside over the jury of this edition.
The nominee list for the award show will be released on November 20, while the show is slated to take place on Decemner 20.
Being a pioneer member of the academy and 16-year member, he is regarded as one of Nigeria’s renowned film and art critics, who has served on the juries of some of the world’s most recognised film festivals and awards, such as the Toronto International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival and Mumbai International Film Festival.
He also served as the Commissioner for Information and Strategy during Governor Ambode’s tenure.
Hon. Steve Ayorinde was Managing Director/Editor-In-Chief of the National Mirror newspaper and Editor of The Punch newspaper in Nigeria. This is will be his second time as President of the AMAA Jury.
