The organisers of the Lagos Leather Fair are excited to announce the speakers for the 2020 edition of LLF Digital Day One.

Titled “STRAIGHT TALK: Where is the Leather Industry Headed?”, a panel of key industry experts and thought leaders will be discussing the challenges surrounding the Nigerian leather industry, the efforts already made to address them, and practical steps and recommendations to help propel an industry that has been described as the nation’s ‘next
gold mine’.

She is the Director, Business Process & Technology at Prime Atlantic Group, and co-founder at 8191 Solutions and Serving with Love Foundation. Her career spans over 15 years in the Telecommunications, IT and FMCG industries. She previously served as Director of Operations, Monarch Communications Ltd.; prior to that, she was Executive Director, HR, Admin and IT at Industrial and General Insurance Company.

Foluso views technology as a catalyst for personal and national development and is very supportive of tech startups and companies. In 2015 she co-founded 8191 Solutions, an IT solutions boutique for SMEs. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of several technology companies including Swift Networks, Cousant Technologies, KudiMoney and
on the Advisory Board of Zest.

Toyin Adeniji

She is the Executive Director, Micro Entreprises at the Bank of Industry where she leads the implementation of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP). She also oversees the execution of tailored solutions to micro-enterprises along value chains, economic clusters and other initiatives such as BOI’s involvement in the Alethia IDF fund. Her experience spans over 28 years in various organisations including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) where she led the IFC’s Women in Business program.

Wilson Erumebor

He is a senior economist at The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) who currently leads the preparation of NESG’s Macroeconomic Outlook and anchors the Technical Subcommittee. Wilson has also consulted for DFID’s Policy Development Facility II. Amongst other things, he has delivered keynote speeches at the World Bank Stakeholders Session on Education; Basic Education Africa Forum on Education, and
Next  Generation Summit on Youth Development.

He is a research, policy advocacy and economic development expert. His research interests cover macroeconomics, fiscal and monetary policies, industry research and public policy. Wilson has over a decade of experience working with organizations that focus on economic and social research, industry research policy advocacy, consulting and credit
ratings.

Adeyinka Abimbola

He is a Value Chain Advisor at The Nigeria Competitiveness project (NICOP), GIZ. He is a multidisciplinary professional with 8 years multi-sectoral work experience spanning international developmental programs including healthcare, advocacy & private sector development, agro-commodities and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) across North and South-West Nigeria. He is also a practitioner of the market systems approach in private sector development, with a proven track record of delivering social, economic and business-specific bottom-line results.

Femi Olayebi

She is Chief Creative Director of FemiHandbags, a luxury line of leather handbags and accessories, and the founder of My World of Bags (its parent company) which produces corporate goods for a vast array of organisations across the continent. Femi is the founder and convener of the Lagos Leather Fair, which was designed to promote Nigerian leather designers, bring together the major players along the leather value chain, and attempt to change the narrative within the industry and challenge the wider Made-in-Africa narrative.

In 2008, she became one of the first 25 recipients to be awarded the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Scholarship; she would later go on to participate in her first international, stand-alone show, Pure London, in 2009, where she FemiHandbags made its debut. Since then, her products have been stocked by retail stores in Paris, New York, London and Lagos. In May 2012, her business was made a case study at the Lagos Business School, and by August the following year, she was one of the four company CEOs selected by the Bank of Industry to attend the Brazil-Nigeria Business Forum in Rio de Janeiro. In 2017, she founded and launched the Lagos Leather Fair, a solely private initiative and the
first of its kind in Nigeria.
