The Borderless Trade Network is pleased to announce its first virtual edition of the Borderless Trade Salon Series: Women in Business Breakfast Meeting.

The 2-day virtual event set for the 8th and 9th February 2021 by 10:00AM has been designed specifically for Women in Business to give them leverage to progress in the international business world.

With a teeming increase rate in the export and trade industry in Nigeria and the establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), it has become imperative to build a platform to empower and sensitize women in business on ways to scale their businesses to international standards, particularly in this industry, in order to compete adequately with their international counterparts.

The #BTSS program is in partnership with the U.S. Consulate Lagos and Ascend Studios Foundation for the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program. OBA Inc. partnering with The Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), being a White-House initiative with the goal of having empowered 50 million women economically and financially by 2025 has set out to familiarize Women in Business about the operational protocols of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The brilliant minded speakers will be sharing insights about the Trade and Export industry, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and its protocols and all the important factors necessary to compete at international levels and achieve set career goals.

TIPS FOR WOMEN IN BUSINESS

Ms. Shade Bembatoum, CEO, African Sustainable SME Export Trade Solutions (ASSETS) will be discussing “Women taking a new perspective on the benefit of Export & Regional Trade”. Delving into “Repositioning your business for the AfCFTA” will be Mrs Kanayo Awani, Managing Director, Intra-African Trade, Afrexim Bank, Cairo.

The topic “Strategies & Support Services for Women in Business to Succeed in AfCFTA” will be adequately covered in an interesting session by Ms. Dorothy Ogbutor, Partner, Inspire Advisory Services Limited, Abuja. The workshop will be rounded up by Barr. Kola Awe, Chairman, NACCIMA Export Group whose session will cover “Basic Product Development and Implementation Process; Import Procedures at Regional level”.

The workshop with a team of excellent industry experts and thought leaders will be ensuring the following:

  • Sensitization of the operating protocols of the AfCFTA agreement;
  • The basic implementation process of the AfCFTA to their business;
  • A deeper understanding of the cognitive and intellectual requirements for the modern business woman;
