The Women International (TWI) has announced the 2025 edition of its annual Pink Up for Girls Campaign, a nationwide movement held in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11.
Since its launch in 2021, Pink Up for Girls has evolved into a global movement mobilizing individuals, communities, and organizations to wear pink in solidarity with girls, challenge limiting stereotypes, and take action on issues affecting their well-being, including menstrual poverty, gender inequality, digital exclusion, and limited access to education and leadership opportunities.

This year’s campaign, themed “Breaking Stereotypes: One Girl at a Time,” will feature a series of activities and outreach programs across Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Imo State, and select international chapters in the United Kingdom, Europe, United States, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. The campaign will blend grassroots empowerment, mentorship, and storytelling with nationwide and global solidarity events.
This year’s Pink Up for Girls Campaign is endorsed and supported by The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development under the leadership of the Honourable Minister for Women Affairs, H.E Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, FSI.
With strong backing from partners and sponsors such as Providus Bank, Union Bank, Save the Children, Unicaf, Digital Women Africa, FDGS Energy Group, Sweet Sensation, Amali Cosmetics, Ajoba Development Foundation, The R.E.A.C.H Organization Foundation, Noella Foundation, YD Company, and The Office of the First Lady of Imo State, the campaign continues to inspire impactful change through collaboration.
As part of the nationwide rollout, The Women International will host a series of community-focused events, including school outreaches, mentorship sessions, and the distribution of dignity kits and care packages.
Supporters are encouraged to wear pink on October 11 and join the movement online using the hashtag #PinkUpForGirls to show their commitment to creating a world where every girl can thrive.
“Our girls are the leaders of tomorrow, but they need us to stand with them today. Without the resources, opportunities, and support they deserve, their tomorrow is at risk. Pink Up for Girls is our call to action to give every girl the chance to become all she was created to be,” said Chinny Okoye, Founder of The Women International and Convener of Pink Up for Girls.
“At The Women International, we are committed to empowering women and girls to see themselves as unstoppable. Pink Up for Girls is more than a campaign; it is a movement to
remind every girl that her dreams are valid, her voice matters, and her future is limitless,” said Bukola Maiye, CEO of The Women International.
“Every pink shirt, every shared story, and every girl empowered represents progress toward a more inclusive world. When we invest in girls, we’re investing in the future, and that’s the power this campaign carries,” added Chinwe Egwim, Member, Board of Trustees, The Women International.
With a target of reaching over 3,000 girls directly across Nigeria, and thousands more through its digital and global activations, Pink Up for Girls 2025 continues to reaffirm The Women International’s commitment to a world where every girl has the confidence, resources, and opportunities to thrive. Let’s go Pink on October 11th!
