We literally can’t get over the excitement we feel over the success of the just concluded Lagos Leather Fair 2019.We are still in awe!

The Lagos Leather Fair 2019 kick-started with a secret auction on the 6th of September 2019 held at the prestigious Wheatbeaker Hotel, where some selected seasoned designers from LLF2019 showcased some of their Exclusive pieces to key players in the industry. Then the official event which took place on Saturday, September 7, 2019 and Sunday, September 8, 2019 at The Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos was themed, “Advancing the conversation”.

This year’s edition is still the best yet.

The crowd was huge, the seats at the conversations and workshops were filled back to back and exhibitors sold out on both days. With a series of amazing catwalk presentations featuring leather products from some of the exhibitors and models were dressed in eclectic Leather outfits by OtitiObuba.

Day1

The event was officially opened by a representative of the First Lady of Lagos State Mrs. Otuyalo.

There were three conversations and one workshopon day 1. The first conversation titled “Creativity & The Law: How to Protect Design and your Brand” had John Asein, Chinyere Okorocha and Annie Obi as speakers.

The second conversation with thetopic “Talking Money: Understanding your Numbers to Access Capital” also had Adenike Ajayi and Olutosin Oni as speakers.

While the third conversation titled “Business lessons” featured a one-on-one with Mark Stephenson,Managing Director of Sandstorm Kenya and OmoyemiAkerele ,Convener Lagos Fashion Week.

Day 1 ended with a practical workshop with AzukaIjekeye, the Co-founder of Nigeria’s first Industrial Design School. Where he explicitly taught on “How to leverage technology to build a better product”.

DAY 2

Day 2 began with exhibitions as usual, plus conversations and catwalk presentations in between, as well as a workshop.

The conversation titled “From Sourcing to Manufacturing” hadTokuboOnagoruwa, WuraolaAbiola, David Ibe, Winston Udeagha and Juliet David-west as speakers

Speakers at the second conversation were Tara Fela-Durotoye, Mark Stephenson and Chekwas Okafor and they discussed on the topic “The Art of Retail: Getting your Product to Market”

The final conversation titled “The Designer and Their Brand: The Power of Storytelling” featured the convener of The Lagos Leather Fair and owner of Femi Handbags, Mrs Femi Olayebi, Thebe Ikalafeng and Shem Ezemmaas speakers.

Day 2 ended with a practical workshop session with ObioraOnoye of Obi Leathers on an “Insider’s guide to leather crafting”.
