Hello Guys,

The double-breasted (DB) blazer is definitely back, in a big way. Gone are the wide shoulders, big shoulder pad, and overdone lapels that dominated the DB blazer back in the 80’s. Now they come with cuts from textured cloth that allow them to transition easily from business to weekend (Not just for the stockbrokers).

For this post, I decided to pair a DB blazer with a button down dress shirt and a tie, which pair well together for a classic and crisp look.

Here is what I’m wearing:

Some guys will pass on a DB blazer because they think it might make them look boxy, although this is not for from the truth but with the right tailoring, a DB blazer can look just like a regular blazer in spite of the extra fabric. I completed the look with a vintage brogue shoe, one of the most versatile shoe in my wardrobe.

The double breasted blazer is a great addition to any guy’s wardrobe. And if this is your first attempt into the DB world, keep it simple.

Until Next time,

Urbane Hanger
