Paris Couture Week this July is set to be a landmark moment for Giambattista Valli, as the acclaimed designer will be promoted from Knight to Officer of the prestigious Order of Arts and Letters—a recognition of his profound contributions to the arts.
To mark the occasion, Valli is merging two major events into one: the unveiling of his Fall 2025 haute couture collection and a celebratory gathering at his Paris headquarters, conveniently located near the iconic Opéra Garnier.

Described as a “more private event,” the affair will deviate from the traditional runway format. Instead, guests will be treated to an exclusive, intimate presentation designed to offer a deeper, more immersive experience of the collection.

This isn’t Valli’s first foray into alternative show formats. He has previously opted for couture exhibitions over catwalk shows—especially during the pandemic—allowing for an up-close appreciation of his atelier’s craftsmanship. Valli made his haute couture debut in 2012 and has since become a central figure in the industry.
The Rome-born, Paris-based designer was first honored as a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters during Paris Fashion Week in September 2023, with heartfelt tributes from Diana Widmaier Picasso and Anna Wintour. The French Ministry of Culture awards this distinction, established in 1957, to individuals who have made significant contributions to the arts. Past recipients include Iris van Herpen, Demna, Simon Porte Jacquemus, Peter Marino, and the late André Leon Talley.

Valli’s accolades continue to grow. Just last month, he was honored with the 2025 Industry Impact Award by Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, celebrating his influence in the bridal world. He launched his first bridal capsule collection, “Love,” in 2021, available through exclusive trunk shows.
