American pop star singer Katy Perry has been rated as the highest paid performing female musician in the world for 2018, according to Forbes.

Although the 34-year-old musician racked in the most money for the year it was a pretty close call between herself and Taylor Swift, who claimed the second spot over the same period with a total of $80 million (R1.1 billion).

Taylor was then followed by music mogul and legend Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, who cashed in on $60 million (R839 million) during her OTR II tour with husband Jay Z.

The Roar hit maker has without a doubt outdone herself over the recent years in the music industry. With playing 80 dates of her Witness:The Tour and grossing over $1 million per night and serving as a judge on ABC’s American Idol reboot, reportedly earning north of $20 million, Katy Perry is the 2018 world’s highest paid woman in music, according to Forbes, making a whopping $83 million pretax.
