Self-confidence is undoubtedly one of the traits of successful people. They know just what to say and when to say it, they are bold, and they take the world like it’s theirs. They are so confident, they can be intimidating to the average person! The truth is that there is no gain in being timid; in fact, the moment people begin to realise that you’re not so confident in yourself, they would take you for granted. To boost your self-confidence, here are some tested and trusted tips:

  • Dress Nicely

The first step to dressing confident, is looking confident. Create a powerful image of yourself and people will accord that power back to you. The goal is to look sharp, hence you should have a nice hair done or be on a clean low cut (whatever works for you), wear neatly ironed clothes with bold colours, and never forget the shoes. Just by changing how you dress, even you would notice your change of disposition.

 

  • Recite Affirmations

Ever heard of the term, “Fake it till you make it?” Nothing shows that better than affirmations. Affirmations are sentences that are used to affect the conscious and the subconscious mind. Saying things like: “I am a winner,” “Everything I do is a success,” “Nobody is better than me,” and the likes, would help you prime your mind until it takes shape. It actually works.

 

  • Win

What better way to be confident that to win! Winning does so many things for you. It programs your mind from that of a failure to that of a winner and that in turn, makes you think like a winner. Winners are confident, and with ever win comes an idea that you can do anything. Program yourself to always win by being prepared, and even when you do lose, you would still feel like a winner.

 

  • Positive Vibes

As much as you can, it is important to avoid negative people. Maintain positive vibes only and your life would take a new shape.

 

  • Silence your inner critic

Many times, the reason people lack confident is because there’s a voice in their heads telling them they’re not good enough. A good way to do this is to give compliments. When you do so, you feel good, and you up your chances of receiving compliments as well.

Smiling is also part of maintaining a positive vibe. However, it is good to take conscious efforts to smile daily. An assignment to make this even better is to smile first thing when you wake up. Do you and the world would be yours every day.

Feel good in your mind and body. Exercise to look good, feel good, keep fit, and boost your overall confidence.
