Welcome to our Beauty Issue. I must say we are very excited to bring these pages to you. We had a series of eventful photo shoots with some models and had an exquisite day with our ‘ready for anything’ Cover Diva Uche Jombo. Just how gorgeous is Uche Jumbo, who we subjected to the heavy eye lashes on both upper and lower eyelids. She was such a darling at the shoot, going with the flow to help us get the images we require.
Talking about beauty, we feature my favourite beauty list, what men actually think of our makeup and more.
Last issue, we introduced you to our new career’ page with the theme ‘How I got my job at…’ this issue, meet The Production team at the Beat FM for their motivating career brief.
We want to make exquisite as interesting to read with exciting images. We’ve started a new column in the magazine called Work Look, this is where you take pictures of your outfit to work every day and we put it in the magazine to show your personal style.
Exquisite is on another frontier now, we have just launched a radio show on Beat FM called the Exquisite Magazine show. Listen in every Friday from 2pm -2.30pm for more stuff on exquisite magazine and a chance to win fantastic freebies. Not forgetting the ELOY Awards 2011. The votes are pouring in and our nominees are gearing up for the third edition of the Exquisite Lady of the year Awards on the 23rd of October. See following pages to the full nominee list, dates of the business seminar and how to get tickets to the event. I look forward to seeing you there.

Funny thing happened to me running up to putting this issue together. I was in church one beautiful rainy sunday, in one of my nice dresses accessorised with a fabulous pair of shoes. At the end of the service , on my way to the children’s church, i remembered i had a perfect chocolate brown bag that would have matched my dress to the letter. I got thinking and did a mental scan of my shoe room. I had to carry my wallet as my purse, because i thought i didn’t have the perfect accessory for this particular dress (thing is, if i had more time to get ready, i would have found something). Anyway, hours later whilst getting ready to go to bed, i decided to see the bag i thought of in church., to check it’s ‘matchability’ for next time, and lo and behold, i couldn’t find my bag. How did my fabulous Cococinelle bag disappear, i love this bag, ibought it in Milan, during one of our girls shopping spree round Europe in the early 2000′s. Now i couldn’t find it. I decided to ask my home assistant in case she saw it somewhere and she said “Madam, you gave me”. I did a double take, i rerepeated “i gave you, how is that possible?” Anyway, it turned out that one day, i was clearing my shoe room and i gave her the bag as i thought she should have it. I type this with so much pain for giving that great piece of work away. Could have shown you a picture, or i might have taken the bag back but she said “it’s in the village in the box” so that thought was shattered. Anyway, the bag is with another happy carrier. So this, along with other thoughts sparked our accessories special. I hope you do enjoy this issue as much as our other specials over the year.
Feast though these pages as we bring you some accessories report from the just concluded capetown fashion week, our awareness is on Vitiligo and also Dr Juwon is our new resident doctor columnist on health. Please send me your comments about this issue and any other issue of exquisite magazine you have read, ilove hearing from you.
Enjoy this moment with exquisite and have an exquisite month.

It’s in my Genes, our Denim issue
A lot of us ladies and some men actually complain about not finding the right pair of jeans for their body shape. This is so true for ladies more than men though. We try to find the perfect pair of jeans every time we venture out shopping and when we do find the ones we like, they gape at the back hence making it look a bit unattractive. Exquisite to the rescue ones again, we bring you tips on how to choose the right pair of jeans for your body shape. Yippee!
From how to pair denim with tops to all the different types of jeans, we have you covered. We shot our fashion story at a mechanic warehouse and boy that is a story on its own. With us being harassed by the local boys, to us just being scared and wanting to get the shoot over and done with, we came out with a spectacular denim story on our fashion pages.
As our annual exquisite fashion party draws near, we talk about some health issues and in this case our kidneys, what we need to know about them. Although the fashion party is more about cancer but then again, health is health. On the 24th of July as God lives, we will be screening men and women for free for prostate and cervical cancer respectively. This is a form of cancer that is claiming lives at an alarming rate and we at exquisite want everyone to have the opportunity to know more about these cancers and ways to possibly prevent them from occurring. So i hope to see you all there. After the fashion party, it doesn’t end there for us, we will be giving free screening to women and men who subscribe to exquisite, so people, get your family and friends on the exquisite band wagon. I hope you do remember to use your exquisite club card because we created that just for you our subscribers. A full list of our discount partners is available on the following pages.
Oh, I need to mention that due to the cost of production and the Nigerian economy, exquisite, your favourite glossy magazine is now being sold for N700. We stayed N500 for 7 years. Not to worry though, our pages are still as exciting and with even more informative articles for you to enjoy.
Our star letter for this issue gets a present from us, so please keep your emails and text messages coming in, I love hearing from you. Feast through these pages of exquisite and enjoy every moment with us.
Have a great month and lots of love.

Letters From you to us.
Enjoyed reading the last Issue
The MI issue was a blast compare to previous issues but I want exquisite to improve on more articles, things to read and substance about life issues. Also I want you to use more Nigerian pictures and less foreign pictures but in all, the print is excellent.
Funmi Omojowolo.
Nice Work, But…
Your interviewers; who are they, what are their impact to their society, what particularly have they done to themselves or society, excuse me here- please interview people who have contributed to the society, they do not have to be popular but role models in their small world. E.g. who is Titilayo Lawal; the interview does not reveal anything worth emulating. The funny thing here is her interview was the first in the magazine; please let such interviews be inside pages and not on bold pages.
Please always use “chics” for your models, no matter the subject, your models reflect the quality of the magazine and how the editorial crews are viewed. “Of the essence column” where did u pick those girls in red—- at the garage or on Goriola Street in Ajegunle!
Please avoid copy and paste, use words that are familiar with our environment. On the Awareness column where you talked of thrush, the last paragraph, do you think an average Nigerian understands those words you use.
Please use Nigerians as models always-”exquisite family” and “Relationships” those models are of course western, who are your audience, I suppose Nigerians.
Please keep up the good work, I will always be a fan- I love your brand and name.
