Wash your make-up brushes with shampoo and warm water as frequently as possible. While applying makeup with brushes, you expose your brushes to sweat and other dirt elements. Continuous usage of such tools would bring dirt and germs to your face, causing skin infections. This should, as such, not be toyed with.

Although make-up can be expensive, we should know when to replace them. Generally, brushes, can be used for years if they are well maintained. However, foundations, eye-shadows and blush creams would last for 6-12 months. Mascaras last for 3-5 months and liquid eyeliners last for 3-8 months. Find out the expiry date of your products and make sure you don’t use them beyond the stipulated time.

  1. Remove Makeup at Night

While it is normal to be too tired to hit the bathroom to wash your face after a long day, sleeping with makeup on causes more harm. No matter what you do, make sure you don’t sleep with make-up on. This is because the chemicals from the products could permeate open pores and cause several kinds of infections.
